railroad law, and other complex civil litigation.
Mr. Carr is listed in “Best Lawyers in America” and he was
selected by his peers as a “Leading Illinois Attorney.” Rex
Carr has served as President of the Inner Circle of Advocates, an exclusive
trial lawyers organization limited to the top 100 personal injury trial
lawyers in the United States. Mr. Carr is also a member of the Board of
Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
In his career, Mr. Carr has obtained three world records as listed in
the Guinness Book of World Records. These include the world’s longest
civil jury trial (1988), the world’s largest libel verdict (1981),

Alan Pirtle concentrates his practice in nursing home abuse and neglect , product liability,
medical malpractice, police

death or serious personal injury.
Mr. Pirtle has successfully tried jury trials in state and federal courts.
He practices law throughout southern Illinois and eastern Missouri, including

Paul Schoen has engaged in civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels
in State and Federal courts in cases which have involved product liability,
medical malpractice, Structural Work Act, motor vehicles, dram shop liability,
premises liability and contracts. He is now concentrating his practice in
medical malpractice, nursing
home abuse, product liability, and
other complex civil litigation that involves wrongful death or serious personal
injury.
Mr. Schoen’s extensive background in complex business litigation
and corporate law is of particular value in nursing home and product liability
cases to unravel intricate business relationships involving multiple operators,
managers and owners of corporate or other business entities.
In 1978, Mr. Schoen co-authored Chapter 9, “Pleadings”, of
the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education publication entitled,
Illinois Civil Practice Before Trial. He has been honored to be previously
listed in “Who’s Who in American Law” and to be inducted
into the Hall of Fame, College of Business Administration, Southern Illinois
University at Carbondale.
Mr. Schoen is a past-president of the Southern Illinois University Alumni
Association. He now volunteers considerable time to the Make-A-Wish®
Foundation of Metro St. Louis and is involved in performing other community
service.

Michael Marker has been involved in civil appellate advocacy throughout
his career and has appeared in appellate courts throughout Illinois and
Missouri, as well as in other parts of the country. The appeals which
Michael has handled range from criminal cases to a broad variety of civil
matters, including products liability, wrongful death, FELA (railroad
injury), Jones Act (injuries to seamen and others on interstate waterways),
medical malpractice, legal malpractice, asbestos exposure, workers' compensation,
interstate succession, and insurance coverage cases. In recent years,
Michael has also concentrated his practice in class actions, mass tort
actions, and employment cases. These cases have involved the underpayment
of ERISA pension benefits; failure to comply with the Fair Labor Standard
Act's wage, hour, and overtime requirements; toxic contamination cases;
and consumer fraud cases against companies in the tobacco, telecommunication,
and pharmaceutical industries, among other matters.

Chris Montroy dedicates 100% of his practice to litigation, focusing his practice in the

Ronald J. Foster, Jr. concentrates his practice in Workers’ Compensation and other civil litigation that involves Personal Injury
